Keep indoor rec space for Northeast Philadelphia kids
Keystone Sports at Franklin Mall gives children a place to practice. We are asking the Mayor of Philadelphia and State Representative Martina White to help keep this space open.
Why This Matters
Families across Northeast Philadelphia rely on the indoor facility at Franklin Mall (1995 Franklin Mills Circle, Philadelphia) as a place where children can practice, play, and stay active year-round. Keystone Sports has operated this space as an indoor sports venue serving local kids and families.
New ownership of the building is moving to end the lease, citing nonpayment of rent. The operator has withheld rent because the roof has leaked since occupancy: indoor play is disrupted by water coming through the roof, and tenant improvements the operator paid for have been water-damaged. The operator's position is that the roof is the landlord's responsibility under the lease.
If this space closes, children in Northeast Philadelphia will lose a local, safe, indoor place to practice and play. We are asking the Mayor of Philadelphia and State Representative Martina White to help keep this space open for the kids who depend on it.
